Project Developer for Home Services Team
Our Team is like a family and we couldn’t be more excited to see one of our own advance her career within our company. Join us in congratulating Jen in her new role of Project Developer for Home Services, the newest division of The Cleary Company in Columbus Ohio.
Jen joined The Cleary Company in 2017 in the role of Design Coordinator. She did an amazing job assisting our Designers with pricing, ordering, organizing inventory as well as keeping our sample library current. In the role of Estimator, Jen has been instrumental in sourcing new vendors and trade partners as well as fine tuning our estimation process and has also stepped in as Project Developer when needed for our Design-Build Team. In February 2020, she earned a Certified Remodeler (CR) accreditation from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).
A passionate Buckeye supporter, Jen earned a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from The Ohio State University. For several years she’s been an Allied member of the American Society of Interior Designers as well as committed community volunteer. Currently she donates her time and talents as Membership Chair for the Dublin Women’s Philanthropic Club and Associate Director for the local Special Spaces chapter. Originally from Cleveland, she calls Dublin home where she lives with her 2 daughters their adorable dog.
Q & A with Jen Sommers, CR
Why did you choose to join the Team at The Cleary Company?
The Cleary Company is growing by leaps and bounds. I’m excited to be a part of a company I can grow with personally and professionally, while working with a team of people full of professionalism, integrity, and compassion.
What do you like most about your job?
I love helping clients create a “happy place” in their homes! Collaborating with clients, co-workers, and trade partners to find ideal solutions. Of all places, you should feel comfortable, safe, and happy in your home.
What room in your house is your favorite and why?
On a breezy summer or fall evening, my happy place is my back patio which is private enough to relax and enjoy a good book but open and inviting enough to enjoy good company and dinner al fresco.
When the weather isn’t cooperating, my favorite room depends on what’s happening! The kitchen, if we’re entertaining or the loft, if we’re playing games and hanging out.
When you’re not working what do you love to do?
I enjoy anything from finding fun activities to do (and new places to explore) with my girls to reading books, photography, cooking, and live music. We love to travel and are always planning our next adventure!
What do you love about the Columbus Area?
There’s a myriad of things to do for all ages and interests. Columbus is constantly changing; it’s exciting to be a part of the growth and diversity coming to Columbus.
What is something you’re most proud of accomplishing?
My girls! This accomplishment is on going, always, even when they are grown. I aspire to always show my girls how to be strong, independent women and to always choose happiness.

What Cleary Team events do you most enjoy participating in?
All of them! From Wine & Design open houses to home tours to Team outings and so on. The move to our new building in 2019 coupled with our 25th anniversary celebration were great fun!
